'Vettai Mannan' is a crime action thriller that features Silambarasan aka Simbu and Deeksha Seth in the lead roles and is directed by debutant Nelson, who has popular Tamil reality shows to his credit. This film is produced by SS Chakravarthy and has tunes set in by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The project is said to be a three heroine one and a foreign damsel is said to play one of the female leads.
The film also has Simbu's real life friend, Jai, playing a pivotal role. In fact, the plot is set on Simbu - Jai friendship, both Simbu and Jai play rowdies of North Chennai, and after Jai is murdered brutally, Simbu sets for avenging Jai's death. It showcases how a local goon from the streets of North Chennai, who kills people for few thousands of rupees, goes on to become an international gangster who is paid in billions!
It is said that when the team initially approached Tollywood's glam doll Deeksha Seth to do the film, she refused as she had her examinations on. But then, when they showed her a four minute teaser of the film, she signed on the dotted lines without even listening to the script further. Recently, the teaser of the film was launched, showcasing Simbu as a pucca gangster or must we say a contract killer?

The current hot topic in Kolly wood is a debate on who would be the protagonist of Shankar's forthcoming film? While some say it would be Vikram, there are others who strongly say Suriya would play the lead role in the director's next project.
"Suriya was the first choice for Nanban. However, the actor could not do the role due to some unavoidable reasons. Shankar and Suriya met recently and they discussed about coming together for a fresh project," say sources.
Meanwhile, rumour mills have it that Deepika Padukone would be the leading lady of the mega director's forthcoming film, no matter who the hero would be. "She was thrilled about working with Shankar," add sources.
Another thing which is said to be confirmed is that the film would be produced by V Ravichandran of Aascar Films, who combined with Shankar earlier for 'Anniyan'. AR Rahman is touted to compose tunes.

இந்த நேரம் பார்த்து அவருக்கு ரஜினியிடமிருந்து தொலைபேசி அழைப்பு வர, இருந்த கொஞ்ச நஞ்ச வருத்தமும் பறந்துவிட்டது தீபிகாவுக்கு.
அவர் கூறுகையில், "ரஜினி சார் குரலை தொலைபேசியில் கேட்டேன். படப்பிடிப்புக்கு முன்பு என்னிடம் போனில் அவர் பேசியபோது கேட்ட அதே உற்சாகக் குரல். உண்மையிலேயே அன்று அதைவிட சந்தோஷமான விஷயமே இல்லை என்று தோன்றியது.
இது எந்தப் படத்தில் நடிக்கும் முன்பும் இல்லாத ஒரு எதிர்ப்பார்ப்பும், பரபரப்பும் எனக்கு உள்ளது. இந்தப் படத்தின் நாயகி வாய்ப்பை எனக்குத் தந்த சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் ரஜினி சாருக்கு நன்றி. அவருடன் சேர்ந்து நடிக்கும் நாளுக்காக காத்திருக்கிறேன்," என்றார்.

Superstar Rajini Kanth who is back to chennai after undergoing treatment for kidney-related ailment in Singapore is said to take complete rest.From last 2 months Chennai based private hospital doctors are continously monitoring Rajini daily.
Doctors are on duty for regular check up of Rajini Kanth health and now doctors have certificate that the superstar is well-fit for the film shoot.It is also came known that Rajini is making a round to director K S Ravikumar's office in Ashok Nagar for discussing on Rana movie.Rajini Kanth is expecting to start th shooting of Rana in the month of October.

Currently Rana pre-production works are under progress and K S Ravikumar is busy on working on the script of the film.Rana is being made as a multilingual film which is being produced by Eros International in association with Soundarya Ashwin's Ocher Studios.Rana is said to be a high budgeted film.
